Spring Cleanup

It's time to get your lawn and landscaping ready to grow.  Clearing away debris of the winter, aerating your lawn, and preemptively treating crabgrass are among the most important steps that you can take toward a healthy, beautiful lawn that will last all summer--and all of are services that we offer.

Aeration

AerationAeration is a practice that can be done in either the spring or fall, and it is one of the best ways to begin a spring fertilization program.  Applications of fertilizer after aeration will move nutrients immediately into the root zone of your lawn.  This practice has shown excellent results in the density and color of cool-season turf grasses on their way to recovery from summer stresses.  Spreading grass seed after aeration is also an excellent practice for lawns that have thinned considerably.

De-thatching (Poweraking)

De-thatchDe-thatching will improve the movement of nutrients and water into the root zone where they are needed.  Fall and spring are usualy the best time to de-thatch cool-season lawns.  If the thatch is 1/2 inch or less, you should be all right, but if the thatch is over 3/4 inch, you may need to de-thatch your lawn.
